Brewtonic presents its first beer festival across The Bernard Shaw Pub and Eatyard food market. Coming from the team that brought you Gin Fusion, Rumbullion and Tippletown, we now turn our attention to our favourite sudsy beverage. Along with our friends Rascals, Kinnegar, The White Hag, Hopfully one of our all-time favourite breweries Sierra Nevada we bring you a celebration of all things beer. From the freshest Autumn seasonal beers, food pairings from some of the best street food vendors in Ireland, to talks, demos and games which will appeal to both aficionado and curious drinker, alike.
The weekend sees the harvest party of year two of the Social Hops Project, an initiative for growers around the country to contribute home-grown hops to a wet-hop ale. The Dublin Mikkeller Running Club will be putting you through your paces with a jaunt around the sunny environs of Portobello. Capital Brewers will be running a home brew competition for the budding brewers around the country looking to win the top prize and kudos among their peers. For those curious about the process of brewing beer, a live brewing demo will happen on the Eatyard stage from mash-in to fermentation.
In keeping with the spirit of The Bernard Shaw, entertainment will take a prominent role with DJs, Beer Bingo and a host of other games and talks from ourselves and other breweries. Talks from some of the Irish beer scene’s characters on a range of topics will take place on the Eatyard stage along with demos of cooking with beer and its by-product: spent grain.
The Eatyard hosts some award winning street food vendors including the newly crowned Box Burger. Kerala Kitchen, Veginity, Arepas Grill along with some new additions will be lining the stomach over the three days of the festival.
With plenty more to be announced in the coming weeks, the first year of Brewtonic Beer Festival will establish itself as a date on the calendar not to be missed.
As part of our first beer festival in The Bernard Shaw and Eatyard, Sunday will feature our BeerBQ Brunch.
A beer inspired menu, each item on the menu will be made with beer as a key ingredient. Using only Brewtonic beers, we marinade, dress and cook with 420 Hemp Ale, In Cahoots Elderflower Sour and Park Life American Wheat Ale.
As part of our first Beer Festival, we’re excited to announce we’ll be hosting a homebrew competition in association with Capital Brewers on the Sunday of the Festival (Oct 1st)
